Intro Notes to the Deck & Reading

I felt the Housewives’ Tarot would offer the right kind of snark as we start the week with a New Moon, Saturn in Retrograde with the Summer Solstice right before Mercury slides into watery Cancer. As we march toward the summer solstice on hump day it creates a bubble of intuitive power that we can tap into for great intuitive wisdom

If you’re part of my Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/RoseGoldHeart) you saw my post about how this new moon was activating all this #RelationshipReboot energy (transforming our relationships). We are cleaning house of that which will not serve our future. The costumes and masks we wore to assuage our people-pleasing fears don’t have to occupy our closets (literally and figuratively). Nor do we have to offer space for drama and derision – we simply cannot afford the time or energy for exploitation, manipulation, or vague promises. Either treat us as equals or stand on the outside looking in.

Most importantly in all of this is that we are especially leveling up our relationship with ourselves. It’s subtle, like a summer breeze, but we’re feeling a bit more free, a bit more alive. I’ve felt it myself – crashing out of cages that tried to contain me, feeling the fresh air on my skin, the sensual truth in my body. More embodied and vibrantly myself than I have been in years. I have finally let go of the origins of such horrible patterns of self-punishment. In reclaiming a sense of who I am, I am standing up to protect her, to shield her from the arrows that fools fire, to fight for her boundaries, and champion her voice. I am protecting myself the way I deserve to be protected and nothing less than this will ever enter my doors again.

We have removed so many barriers to standing tall in our own skin that using these moments to clear the decks of the past emotional clutter, will serve our highest selves and model this freedom for others just starting this phase of their lives.

Where We Are This Week

Ace of Wands (R)

Root Chakra

Sing a repeating refrain as we clear the emotional clutter, “Dust those cares right out of your heart”. In upgrading our relationship structures, we especially are upgrading our relationship with ourselves. Unfortunately, in doing that, we expose some of the dirty underbellies of what we’ve been tolerating, particularly in our workplaces, families, and communities. We’re realizing how our callings our passions, our energy, and our drive, have been gaslit into oblivion, turning what once was life-giving into yet another chore, yet another brick in our capitalistic ladder. That ladder has only made us more depressed, more alone, and more disconnected the higher we climb. This is our sign to step out of the rat race long enough to see where we can reclaim our passion from those who want to control our shine. We are worth SOOOO much more!

Messages from our Guides

Six of Wands

Third Eye Chakra

Normally, I ascribe to this principle “What others think of me is none of my business.” And I’m lucky enough to have guides who help me shield myself from the useless opinions of those who wish to hurt me. But here, the guides are lifting the veil, ever so slightly to show us that people are looking at us with a sense of awe. “How did s/he/they do that?! I want some of whatever they’re drinkin’!” Seriously, they want to know your secret. And so don’t be threatened if people you don’t recognize are poking around. Let go of the paranoia and celebrate that people are starting to notice your magic and your worth. However, remember that you are not responsible for performing for their future approval. So, while it’s important to know that people are noticing your gifts and inherent skill, it doesn’t mean they get access to all of you or get to decide how you feel about yourself. This is a limited view, a peek behind the curtain to remind you to be proud of yourself.

Messages from Lady Gaia/Mother Earth

The Tower

Crown Chakra

Buckle in, I’m going to spend time on this one. How can I not when my favorite card shows up during one of my favorite weeks of the year? I know most people hate the Tower card, because well, systemic change isn’t pleasant or easy. It’s often rocky and difficult. The placement of this card matters because the progression from last week’s Temptation (Devil, XV) to this week’s Tower (XVI) card points us to the narrative of the Fool’s Journey – to the destruction that comes after the awareness of our devilish qualities.

The Devil often illuminates the missing pieces of the puzzle in our lives. The treacherous temptations point us to what is missing in us, the weakest link, the powerlessness we might feel over patterns of harm in our lives. When we are aware, we see through the Devil, to the illusions created by the most monstrous parts of ourselves and can heal what is lost. That realization shatters the false security and trust that we had in institutions, families, and societal structures – putting cracks in the foundations of the “Tower of Self” that has kept us prisoner without knowing it – the Tower card. With illusions crashing down, the writing is on the wall. We have to vacate this old property before it comes crashing down on our heads. We still have time to get out, to build a new place to put our emotional/spiritual selves. But know that no one will come in to save us – we have to save ourselves.

Unlike other depictions of the Tower where we see the impending destruction, here we are shown a confining yet not-quite-convincing image. “Look how happy I am,” she tries to convince us. Luring us into the same traps of the Devil card, because either you’re on the menu or you’re stuck in this molded structure until someone rescues you. She is the smiling bait for us to remain confined, locked in the prisons of a society that would rather keep us small and restricted. Specifically, this week beware of those who show up with a smile, trying to persuade you to stay in a bad situation or that they’ve done something without your consent “for your own good”. Big, giant red flags. You see that this week, GTFO. Trust that the universe is delivering this message to you for a reason. Recognize your self-worth and vacate dying systems before they come crashing down on you too.

Messages from the Ancients

Seven of Cups

Heart Chakra

The ancients celebrate all the amazing avenues we have open to us. We can do anything we want. The question is…what DO we want? It’s tempting to do it all at once, but if so we’ll forget to savor the experiences offered as they were meant to be sampled. In relation specifically to the Ace of Wands (R) take a look at how the desire to drink from each cup at once is souring our gut (sacral, solar plexus & heart) against our ambitions. But more importantly, consider how the world often demands our attention, pulling us in different directions and keeping us indecisive or too scattered to enjoy our lives fully. The advice this week is to a) recognize how amazing it is that we now have so many opportunities open to us, but b) that we need to spend some time truly considering what it is that we want, which cup to drink from first. Trust me, you have time for it all.

Messages from Our Future Selves

Ace of Pentacles

Sacral Chakra

How often do we save a bottle of wine or our good plates for a “special occasion” only for that occasion to never arise? It isn’t that we didn’t view those events and accomplishments as special, we just didn’t view them as special enough to justify such an extravagant level of effort or indulgence. Here, we are encouraged to break out that special dining ware, the fancy clothes we promised we’d wear once we fixed a, b, or c about ourselves, and the bottle of whiskey we’ve been saving. We have finally made it and part of that is treating ourselves like we have. Right now there is something you’ve been hanging onto for that time you think you might be “worthy”. Well, that time is now or very shortly!

Messages from Mother Mary

Six of Cups

Solar Plexus Chakra

The key from getting to the overwhelming options and choices available to us, to being able to choose a line and enjoy the rewards and growth that it brings us is being able to look back at the wishes and desires of our youth, without the attachment of expectation that others placed on us. We all have it – having items in our homes because society taught us that’s what “grown-ups should do” when we don’t even like those things. Professions we got into because it would make our families proud There’s no shame in looking back and reminiscing about what you wanted back then, but it doesn’t have to tether us to our choices now. Examine what we’ve inherited that we now feel safe enough to detach from our lives. Let those things live in the past, not clutter the future.

Undercurrents

King of Pentacles

Root Chakra

We have a vision in our heads about what a “good life” looks and feels like. For many, it’s the image of this man, the proverbial “king of his castle” sitting with his loyal pup, sitting back leisurely reading the news, smoking his favorite pipe, not bothered by stress. The undercurrent shows us this card to get us to take a look at the ways we have already achieved our vision of “success”. Even if this guy’s relative luxury isn’t our cup of tea, notice how we have taken charge of our environment, our time, and our talent to give ourselves the life we want. This card reminds us that we aren’t helpless pawns, but quite powerful creators. We just have to stop ourselves long enough to enjoy it.

Final Advice

Hanged Man (r)

Throat Chakra

We end with a continuation of last week’s throat chakra message in this same position: don’t argue with strawmen. More than ever, especially during Pride month, we have little conversational gnats spoiling the good fun. The more we engage with the “whataboutisms” and the “well, actuallys” the more we feed the monsters that are plaguing us. They aren’t offering any new points of view worth considering that we haven’t heard a million times before. This card tells us to guard our energy and doesn’t get pulled into a battle over the last word. More than likely the person demanding the last word is the one who started the fight with something insipid and destructive in the first place. Don’t rise to the bait. Let them have it if it helps their small little egos – the lack of response is more infuriating to them anyway. The more we let go and let them spin out, the more they prove how objectively immature they are. Let ’em. Their opinion of us doesn’t have to define us if we choose not to.

Parting words from a Geek Empress

This particular reading speaks so strongly to me this week because the most important dates on my wheel of the year are the Solstices. I celebrate the five days before/after being my “holy weeks” of the year. June 20 – 25 I celebrate the anniversary of my calling – rededicating myself to the core of my mission, an affirmation of light, a humility of power. Dec 16 – 21 I take time off to commemorate my birthday, restoring the lost energy, the broken promises, and the cost of my calling by going through my dark night of the soul to purify my vision, my consent, offering my very life to the Divine to be reborn into even more resilient versions of me.

We are challenged this week to clear ourselves of the emotional clutter of a younger, less aware version of ourselves. It’s okay to let that go because, with the sunrise the morning after the solstice, we’ll have planted the seeds for a new, vibrant, and more joyously centered version of ourselves. And those who care to grow with us, who are in our corner no matter how perfect we aren’t, they will find their love doubled in the gardens of our hearts.

But first…we have to love ourselves enough to create the space for us to thrive together.

No matter what happens this week, remember I am with you always in love 💖
