Everyone is on their journey to accepting the divine within themselves, so don’t worry if this doesn’t quite fit where you are right now. The point is all of us have taken a big, giant step toward loving ourselves. We’ve removed some obstacles, seen a new perspective, and vacated spaces that gaslit us into believing the worst about ourselves.  Consider this a big, giant cosmic hug for all that we’ve been through and all we’ve overcome already. Reassurance may drop out of the blue, but there’s also no harm in asking for it too. This has been a difficult mountain to climb and it’s okay to need a hug and pat on the back from the people who support us.

This card speaks to the point of growth where we’re starting to develop roots in our message, in the places we are most valuable and trusted. These roots will feed our abundance to come. Following your intuition brought you to the fertile soil you seek. It’s safe to plant roots here now. It’s safe to base your abundance on the current path, to sit and stay a while. Even if there are disruptions all around, keep growing right where you’re planted.

Mother Earth has been speaking strongly lately – enough that I want to go back through the messages of the past 6 months to see the bigger patterns at play, which is the advice from this card. Now that we’ve seen what Mother Earth is capable of in her defense, it’s time for us to de-personalize our viewpoint from the individual and expand it out to the interconnectedness we share. But first, we have to detach from our “am I enough” navel gazing and see the larger picture that we share. We are all Mother Earth’s children. All of us. Stop and consider that reality for a moment – how mindblowing it is when we consider we all come from the flesh and blood only made possible through the gifts of food, water, and materials for shelter provided by Mother Earth – perhaps it’s time we started acting like it. Accepting ourselves is a critical step, but so is stepping back to see what’s truly at stake – not in a conceptual sense, but through expanding our empathy beyond our reactions and toward the interconnected truths we share.

The ancients are saying, “That thing you did, that you didn’t think you could do…you pulled off a baller move. We are impressed!” We are on top of the world right now. We’ve unlocked a HUGE part of what was keeping us wallowing in doubt and frustration. But it wasn’t just that we unlocked a concept, we took action toward our healing. We didn’t just release ourselves from prisons of intergenerational trauma, we have also released our ancestors (at least some of them) from the ties that kept them tethered to self-defeating patterns and empty beliefs. You’ve proven it can be done and the ancients are celebrating you for it. Embrace the victory and truly feel the confidence filling your solar plexus with bright, vibrant energy.

I often underappreciate the meaning of this card when it comes up in my feed. The simplicity of gratitude often feels…too small…for the big plans we have, the big things we want to create in our lives. We’re impatient to get started with our lives, looking around the corner for the next opportunity, watching our back for disaster in our wake. But the simple act of being present and carving out space for gratitude is a leadership skill. For example, when we take the time to tell a co-worker or employee “thank you” for something they did that made our day better goes a long way toward creating trust. Sending a bouquet to say thank you to our partner for dealing with a big issue at home that helped us should be a no-brainer, but how often do we overlook the continual support of the people around us? To pave the way for our future success, it always has to start with gratitude.

Smoke & Mirrors

I’ll be honest, I don’t love this card here. The messages from Mother Mary are often cheeky, but lately, they’ve taken on a deeper edge that feels like she’s trying to point out an obvious issue that we’re just refusing to see. Here, great effort is being taken to obscure the truth from us. We can’t make assumptions about intentions, only that we’re being distracted from an important truth about our world and ourselves. No, it isn’t a conspiracy of some world order, but rather our own broken egos throwing smoke into the air, making it so we can’t fully trust everything we see, read, and hear. It doesn’t take a conspiracy to see that people are becoming more personally invested in their opinions, more dissuadable from their ignorance, and more compellingly hostile in their words. Here, the advice is to listen both to what is being said and also how and why it is being said. Likewise, it’s just as important to listen for what isn’t being said. Don’t react to the smoke & mirrors trick, instead observe, wait, and analyze carefully.

Our Lady of the Rose Child

Because it was the anniversary of my calling, I used the Mother Mary Oracle to pull an extra message for us. This whole deck encompasses the gentle humor and fierce compassion of how I experience Mother Mary. This is one of the cards I feel addresses my journey so well. From the guidebook, which says it so much better than I could, “You are my Rose Child, born of agony and ecstasy. In sorry and joy, I am with you and you are growing. In darkness and light, I am with you and you are growing. In death and new life, I am with you and you are growing. The thorn and the bloom, both of the rose. In the midst of your suffering, you are in the birthing pains of new life. I cherish you, my heavenly Rose Child. Do not fear the darkness of life. It is necessary for your life to be made manifest. I am your mother, the midwife for the birth of your soul, and the defender of your heart. surrender and trust in me.” Even if you receive no other reassurance this week, cling to this message, listen to it – for you are loved, fully for all that you are, all that you’ve endured. You are never alone – she is always there for you, her precious Rose Child.

Ears Wide Open

The throat chakra isn’t just for talking, it’s also for listening. In the undercurrent, this week, likely to go along with Mother Mary’s messages, are some whispers and indications from the universe. Listen more than you talk this week to gather the information that could be helpful to a decision down the road. Particularly if the “smoke & mirrors” card is leaving a bad taste in your mouth, this is your assignment. Instead of acting on impulse, take a step back and listen to what is REALLY being said. Don’t jump to conclusions and bounce away, but observe and report back. Use that information to “soar above” and to see past the obvious to the hidden messages that lay within. Most people and schemes are more transparent than we assume. But it’s so much easier to see when we just give them time to reveal themselves.

Beyond the Ordinary

What we will find as we move through this week is that in the process of taking a step toward a better relationship with ourselves, we begin to see beyond the mundane, ordinary world and start to find some of the sparkle, shine, and heart-wrenching beauty of it instead. This transformative experience is why you’ve been called to the path you’re on – because once you bear witness to the miraculous within yourself, even if it’s only 1%, the veils start to part and you start to see the miraculous in the world as well. It might be a fleeting glance, but it cannot be unseen. The love you give yourself gives you a greater ability to be present and bear witness to the extraordinary in others. We are all divine creations and finally, we can see a wider spectrum of humanity’s brilliant variety than we ever saw before.
