I debated for a while whether this was a solar plexus (courage) card or a crown chakra (leadership alignment) card. But this isn’t about just stepping up to a moment – taking on a specific battle or emotional posturing, but it’s a complete mind shift away from one of victimization to one of empowerment. A lot of us have been hiding behind imposter syndrome to protect ourselves from claiming the role that our spirit has already carved out for us. We see the gaps in the systems, the vulnerabilities popping us around us. We keep looking around for someone else to fill in only to find that the spotlight is squarely on us…and has been all along. We can no longer hide behind excuses; we are the heroes we’ve been waiting for.

Last week’s Star card is followed by this affirming glow of wisdom, hope, and love. The hope you’ve been able to find for yourself is making you powerful enough to shine a light of hope for others. That’s sorta how it works. You are shining brightly enough these days that you’re recognized and known to many as a source of hope, a lighthouse in the ether of all this disintegrating certainty. Now that our towers have fallen, we are the ones shining the warning (and the remedy) to others who are still guarding their own even as the windows shatter and the ground rocks beneath them. Our survival story matters!

Root Chakra

The writing has been on the wall for a while now – capitalism is killing us. It’s killing our souls, it’s killing our families, it’s killing our society. And as powerful as that force may seem, the only thing more powerful is when we stand within our aligned, authentic truth. It isn’t enough to just “be yourself” because so much of that self is coded with language and values that still uphold these systems, despite our intentions. Instead, we need to do the more delicate work of realigning ourselves to apply our spiritual growth without getting fractured by the illusions of dying systems. Once we align our growth with our reality, we can show up more whole and complete, better able to resist the swirling messages of lack and scarcity that scare us so much.

The Initiation

Solar Plexus Chakra

Last week the ancients were waving our banner, cheering our name…as we paraded down the path toward our final initiation. All during July we walked this path to both boos and cheers. We showed up for ourselves and did the hard thing. Even if it felt like people were jeering at us anyway, the fact that we survived this proved our worth to pass through a portal to our new selves. With this full moon and 8/8 (Lion’s Gate) portal, the time is right to assert ourselves by crossing the threshold to a new way of living. If we work on that alignment from the past card, focusing on the threads of our calling that are being activated by the events of the past month, we will find a whole new level of resilience and presence waiting for us on the other side. The ancients are singing our praises as we wave goodbye to the old and step into the new.

I’m sure you knew it was coming to this point…this whole journey has been about creating your inner sanctum to listen, heal and replenish before tackling bigger parts of your journey. But the sanctuary isn’t just for you, it’s for those who follow in your steps. If your survival story is to be someone’s guide, then it stands to reason that in the future these are the steps you will be teaching others about in the future. Each step of this process has been to lead you to a place where you can guide others along the same path. Like leaving breadcrumbs behind us, don’t be surprised when others are looking to you for inspiration and advice. They feel safer because of your example. Allow them to rest in your temple and be blessed by your wisdom. Be open and generous for this is truly the heart’s greatest work – to become a sanctuary for humanity.

Trust the Niggle

Solar Plexus Chakra

While ordinarily, I might place the receiving intuitive messages with the throat or third eye chakra, what I get here isn’t about the wisdom that is being received, but rather our trust in our ability to receive it. Intuition requires us to not only be able to recognize and interpret the messages we’re getting (throat/third eye) but to also trust ourselves enough to act on those messages when we get this. Mother Mary points out that it is this last part where we need more encouragement and help. Messages are going to flow this week…and the advice is to stop wasting time trying to find a rational explanation (or excuse) to ignore that feeling in the pit of your stomach…if you get a signal (no, yes, forward, back, etc) then take it before you throw a bunch of effort into a course of action that will provide fruitless and possibly even damaging. This is less about the specific message and more about the trust we need to develop in ourselves.

Third Eye Chakra

We have known for a while that we are part of something bigger, something bolder and more connected than the world we see before us today. It often can feel disruptive to be so out of sync with the rest of the world, like there’s nowhere we truly belong. In the mythologies of Mintaka, a star in Orion’s belt, the inhabitants of a watery planet came to Earth as the original “light-bringers”. Deeply sensitive, they long for a sense of home. If this feels like you, the goal isn’t to separate because you don’t feel like this place is home – it is to channel yourself into creating a home here on Earth. It isn’t to separate from our humanity but to lean into it. And in so doing we, can start offering a home to other wayward souls who feel displaced as things start crumbling down. What is more divine than providing a sense of belonging and love for those who feel shut out everywhere else?

The heartache we’ve been feeling over the past few weeks has been a means of surrendering to the divine growth happening within us. All felt like it was breaking apart, cracking our hearts open in a million different pieces. But what curiously felt like devastation is actually a blossom emerging into the light. For it wasn’t our heart that broke after all, it’s too strong to ever truly break, instead, it was the protective cage of the seed that was containing all that strength and potential. Between the energy of the full moon, the Lion’s Gate portal (if you’re into that thing), and the normal summer drama the best way to channel this energy is into the vision of what we want to create with the future. I don’t mean creating goals for the year, but truly crafting a new, inclusive, accessible narrative for humanity. We don’t have to be defined by our worst moments, but instead our greatest dreams. We are birthing a new world, imagining what life could be instead of bemoaning what it has been. Channel the creative artist and sketch a picture of your greatest dreams – one that honors the alignment of our lives that supports our highest purpose.
