Intro Notes to the Deck & Reading
It’s easy to get discouraged by what we see in the world at the moment. I do these readings to provide a little infusion of hope to those who come across these words. If even it’s just a sign that someone else sees things the way you do, I think it’s worth it for us to connect, to share in the knowing nod of “I know this all in divine timing, but frak, this sucks.”
The choice of this week’s deck is an intentional balm for the journey we’re leaving behind. If it felt like we’ve been crawling through mud without even a light to follow, this is the deck that will assure us that we were never alone. Beyond that, it’s giving us a glimpse, an eagle eye’s view of how far we’ve come and how much is still waiting for us to experience.

I’m noticing an increase in abundance, a resurgence of confidence, and a renewal of my passion. We are in a position where we can take the time to scout out our path from above. Some big questions have been answered, some restraints have been cast aside and we can see the truth of where we are headed with greater clarity. Meditations seem to resonate deeper, messages reverberate longer, and dreams linger through the day – all of these are ways our intuition is trying to reach out to let us know there is a whole forest to see instead of those individual trees. Give them a blessing of love and freedom as they blow away to form new roots.

Speaking of roots…this is a good time to track the migration of your journey. Even as you root into new spaces, with new connections of family (including your chosen family), don’t let that deter you from remembering where you came from. Your ancestry, your lineage, your inherited traits. It is said that the healing that we do in this lifetime has the power to unravel trauma from 7 generations back…and will influence the next seven generations to come. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting, but rather honoring the essence of that inspiration through our current actions.

Another heart chakra card in this position, three weeks in a row. I gotta say, for as much as this reading is giving “release the past” vibes, this particular card is about letting go of both the expectations we have of others…and the ones they have of us. We are challenged to show up as our full selves in this beautiful & glorious future that we are going to make out of the destruction & darkness we see around us. This is the magnificent Elsa moment where we stop caring about everyone else’s rules for us and start caring about being who we truly came here to be. Let it go, my friends.

I have lived in the liminal spaces of life for as long as I know. I don’t always fit in, but I’m also not fully excluded. Always in and out at the same time. Cool and deeply uncool all at once. Us misfits of the world have been the natural bridges between different cultures and reality. In my family, I was the one extroverted enough to take the pressure off my parents in social situations. Each of us has had this experience of bridging gaps. This is no different. We are bridging gaps from the structures that formed us to the reality we are dreaming up together. To do this, we have to rid ourselves of the burdens from the past and the albatross of a future judgment not yet formed. We have no choice but to live in this moment and help people jump across – as we just did for ourselves.

We have each passed through portals of meaning that have brought us to a new phase of our reality. It was far from easy – the emotional pain of what we are leaving behind tries to bind us still, trying to convince us that now is never good enough, that the timing will never be right. But we are starting to manifest quicker, call forth that which we need with greater certainty…we are reclaiming what was always ours. And even if the rest of the world hasn’t caught up yet, all is in divine order.

There is a sparkle above your head right now. You’re living a charmed kind of life, even if it wasn’t the kind of life you had expected for yourself. Synchronicity will follow you if your motives are always in agreement with your intentions. For example, for a long time, I was always wishing for a certain type of relationship to enter my life – except my motivations were always out of a sense of need, for reassurance of my worthiness. When I took the time to find myself worthy, it no longer mattered what kind of relationship entered my sphere, I was ready for it because I was ready to connect with more authentic motives for the world I now feel capable of building. Assess where in your life that alignment is already working and use that as inspiration to address any remaining areas of incongruence.
Parting words from a Geek Empress
There is a part of me that regrets using an oracle deck when I think a tarot deck would be more clear, more edgy in its advice. This deck, based on the 7 chakra energies, always has a silver lining attached to it, which is probably why it’s the deck I’ve been using daily since November 2019. But with each new post I see about Gaza, each new anti-LGBTQ bill I see, each new pick-up I see traveling to the border on a dehumanizing mission of misplaced pride, the task in front of me feels so insurmountable. This is why we need each other more now than ever.
In my social justice lawyer history, when things seemed most bleak – I took heart by taking a bigger view of the problem. Pulling back and seeing the whole board – the moves others were making that I had narrowly avoided, the pitfalls we had successfully jumped past. I also get to see that I’m not truly alone because I see the teams of helpers who are creating safety for emotional refugees of an incongruent world. It gave me clarity to see that the path wasn’t nearly as clouded as I had thought. That there is a way through. I could now build a map, apply my skills, and save the day after all. The ability to step back and survey the bigger picture is an essential skill all of us need to employ more often.
It is only in being able to step outside our attachment to the immediate that we see the patterns that try to make us feel small. Those forces rely on our self-doubt to retain dominance over our power. We have grown past enduring the nagging thorn in our side as proof of our self-worth. We don’t need to satisfy the peanut gallery to earn the right to happiness. Nor do we have to speak the same magic words as everyone else to unlock our world’s liberation.
If we can manage to let go long enough to express our full selves – there will be no going back…and THAT is what is scary to the forces that continue to rage around us. As you take flight away from the jealousies of the world, make a wish, offer your most fervent blessing, and let those seeds scatter where they may.
